A Master Sommelier is the highest level of professional achievement in the wine industry, above a Sommelier. The Master Sommelier diploma is awarded by the Court of Master Sommeliers, an organization that sets the standards for wine service and education in the industry. The exam is considered one of the most difficult professional exams in the world, with a pass rate of less than 5%.
