Pharmacy Assistant

A pharmacy assistant is a healthcare professional who works in a pharmacy and provides support to licensed pharmacists. They may perform a variety of tasks, such as greeting customers, answering the phone, operating the cash register, and filling prescription orders. They may also be responsible for stocking shelves, ordering and receiving inventory, and maintaining records.

In addition to these basic tasks, pharmacy assistants may also have more specialized duties, such as preparing medication for dispensing, maintaining patient records, and providing information to customers about their medications and how to use them properly. They may also assist customers with insurance claims and handle other administrative tasks.

Pharmacy Assistant plays a vital role in helping the pharmacist to focus on their primary duty of dispensing and checking medication for patient safety by performing tasks such as counting and pouring medications, packaging and labeling prescriptions, and preparing insurance claim forms.
