This is a frustrating situation, but it is very common with TVET college portals. Often, the “Incomplete” status is triggered by a specific missing document or a mandatory placement test that hasn’t been linked to your profile yet.

Here is a step-by-step guide to resolving your “Incomplete” status at Ekurhuleni East TVET College (EEC). Follow these steps in this exact order to get the fastest results.

Step 1: Perform a “Self-Check” on the Portal
Before contacting them, log in one last time and check two specific things that usually cause this error:

The Placement Test: Have you completed the Pre-Entry Placement Assessment (TLO)? If you haven’t done this online test, your application will remain incomplete. Look for a tab that says “Placement Assessment” or similar.

Document Dates: Check your uploaded ID and Results. Are the certification stamps older than 3 months? If yes, the system may have auto-rejected them.

Step 2: Send a Formal Email
If Step 1 didn’t solve it, you need to create a paper trail. Send this email immediately.

Is there a placement test I need to complete?

Can I bring the documents to the campus physically to finalize this?

Step 3: Call the Specific Campus
Do not wait more than 48 hours for an email reply. If you don’t hear back, call the specific campus you applied to.

Who to ask for: Ask to speak to the “Student Support Services” or “Registration/Admissions Department.”

What to say (Phone Script):

“Good day. My name is [Your Name]. I applied online, but the system says my application is ‘Incomplete.’ I cannot see what is missing. Please can you look up my ID number on your system and tell me exactly which document I need to re-upload?”

Step 4: Visit the Campus (Most Effective)
If you cannot get through on the phone (which is common during busy periods), you must go to the campus.

Where to go: Go to the campus security gate and ask for directions to the Student Administration Block.

What to bring (The “Fix-It” Pack): Take hard copies of these documents so you can fix the issue right there and then:

Certified copy of ID (Must be certified within the last 3 months).

Certified copy of latest School Results (Grade 11 or 12).

Proof of Residence (Water/Lights bill or affidavit).

Proof of Application (A screenshot of your portal profile or student number).

Action: When you get to the counter, show them your “Incomplete” status on your phone and ask them to clear it on the system while you are standing there.
