Most marine biologists live and work in coastal areas, near the ocean or other bodies of water where they can easily access marine environments for research and study. This may include cities and towns along coastlines, as well as islands and other locations that are near marine ecosystems. Some marine biologists may also live and work in more remote locations, such as on research vessels or in field stations located in the ocean.
